Beginning Quilting - A Learn-to-Quilt Program

This beginning quilting class is designed to teach you the basics and give you the confidence to go on and try something new.  In this class, you will learn:

  • Lesson 1 - The Basics
  • Lesson 2 - Nine Patch Block
  • Lesson 3 - Monkey Wrench Block
  • Lesson 4 - Squaring Up and Assembling the Quilt Top
  • Lesson 5 - Borders
  • Lesson 6 - Marking and Basting
  • Lesson 7 - Machine Quilting - Stitch-in-the-ditch and straight line machine quilting
  • Lesson 8 - Binding and Labeling

What you need:
- pencil and paper for notes
- Sewing machine in good working order
- Walking Foot
- 1/4" foot preferred but not required
- Extra sewing machine needles
- Pins, tape measure, seam ripper, scissors, rotary cutter
- coordinating thread for sewing and bobbin
- Fabric - we will discuss during first class
