Fanny Pack with Rick
This class is for sewists of all skill levels. We will cover basic sewing operations including: cutting with a rotary cutter, finger pressing, hemming, seams, seam allowance, straight and zigzag stitching, learning right side vs wrong side and box corners.
Don't worry if these terms are unfamiliar to you, sewing has its own language.
At the end of the class students will have a completed fanny pack with a zippered opening on the top. It's a great class for those just learning how to sew. If you have never used a sewing machine, we will teach you the basics.
Equipment needed:
Sewing machine and thread
Needles
Scissors, seam ripper
Rotary Cutter (optional)
Materials:
One yard of fabric. We are making a small bag, so fabric with some body to it is best. No stretchy fabrics.
One yard of webbing, 3/4" or 1". There will be webbing available if you don't have any.
Side release buckle to match webbing width.
12 in zipper and 2 slides
Instructor will provide fabric, webbing and zippers, in limited colors.
